Dental Implants – A permanent solution for missing teeth!
Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement of teeth that look, feel and function like natural
teeth. The implants are extremely useful for people who have lost teeth and with that the ability to enjoy eating or smiling.
With an implant you can get natural looking teeth that perform like natural teeth and most of all you get your full smile and your confidence back. The implants are tiny titanium posts which are placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth.
Implants help with the preservation of facial structure and prevent bone deterioration which occurs when teeth are missing.
How do we evaluate you for Dental Implants
To evaluate whether an implant is the best solution for your missing teeth we will ask you to undergo a dental visual and X-ray examination, including the documentation of your health history. We will use these consultation visits to establish your specific needs. The consultation will be done with Dr. Naqvi at Orion Dental. Your questions and concerns are important to us and our team will work with you very closely to help make you understand these procedures.
What is our Dental Implant procedure
Dental implants are titanium posts, which function as a substitue for your real tooth root. These titanium posts are surgically placed into the jawbone. These are then attached to the implant, which protrude through the gums. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth. For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, implants are placed within your jawbone. For the first three to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums, gradually bonding with the jawbone.
After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the second phase begins. The surgeon will uncover the implants and attach a small healing collar. An impression will be taken a few days following this procedure. Then posts or attachments can be connected to the implants. The replacement teeth are then made over the posts or attachments. The entire procedure usually takes four to six months. Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily life.
