It’s that time of year again when hockey’s best put it all on the line for the chance to hoist the Stanley Cup. And even though our local team barely missed out on this year’s playoffs (that was sarcasm), we’re thrilled that five Canadian teams did qualify for the chance to bring Lord Stanley’s Cup back to Canada. What else would we love? We’d love to get our hands on these three hockey players so we could help with their missing teeth and their hockey scarred smiles!
Implants as a great solution for missing teeth:
Alexander OvechkinOne of the most prolific scorers in hockey history, Ovechkin recently became just the sixth player in NHL history to register 50 goals in six different seasons. He joined an elite company that includes Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Guy Lefleur. But scoring heroics aside, Ovechkin’s smile isn’t going to be gracing the cover of any high-end fashion magazines but we’d love to fill that gappy smile with a dental implant or two! But even we’re human and there’s probably not much we can do about that Santa hat and ugly Christmas sweater Mr. Ovechkin is sporting.

Chris NeilIt’s hard to say something nice about Chris Neil because he plays for the rival Ottawa Senators and he’s played our hometown heroes pretty hard over the years, but Neil brings scoring and grit every time he steps on the ice. But any player that can eject a firehouse sized stream of water between his missing teeth needs a couple of implants, and we’d love to be the ones to give them to him. |
Duncan KeithTwice an Olympic gold champion with Team Canada, twice a Stanley Cup champion with the Chicago Blackhawks, twice a Norris Trophy winner as the NHL’s best defenceman, twice an NHL first-team All-Star – there’s little doubt that Keith is one of the best to ever lace up the skates. But after a clearing attempt during a 2010 playoff game against the San Jose Sharks left him short seven teeth, Keith returned to the ice after a short absence to finish the game. Seven teeth? Are you serious? That’s a dentist’s heaven, lining up seven implants. But we also take our hat off to Mr. Keith and all the rest of the hockey players that put their bodies on the line for the sport they love. |
