Our blog
Editorial Policy
How we write the articles on our blog, and what you can expect from them.
Who writes our articles
Articles are published by the Orion Dental Team, led by Dr. Fahimay Naqvi, a general dentist who has practised since 1989. The articles listed on her profile were written by Dr. Naqvi. Newer articles are written by members of our team. Every new article is read and approved by the practice before it is published.
What our articles are, and are not
Our articles are general information about dental health and the treatments we provide. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for an examination. Whether a treatment suits you depends on a clinical assessment, and individual results vary. We do not recommend medications or products.
If you have dental pain or a dental emergency, please call us: Scarborough 416-291-0306 or Milton 905-636-9770.
The rules we follow
Orion Dental is a licensed Ontario dental practice, and everything we publish is regulated by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO). In practice, that means:
- We do not use superlatives such as “best” or “leading”, or compare ourselves to other practices.
- We do not promise results or describe any treatment as painless or guaranteed.
- Our dentists are general dentists, and we never describe them as specialists.
- We describe the limitations and risks of a treatment, not only its benefits.
Sources
When an article includes a statistic or a health claim, our policy is to cite where it comes from, preferring Canadian sources such as the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association and Health Canada. If you find a claim without a source, please tell us.
Images
Photos of our offices and team are our own. Other images are licensed stock photos or AI-generated images; their descriptions say so, and they do not show our patients or the results of our treatment.
Dates and updates
Each article shows the date it was published. When guidance changes, we update or remove articles that no longer reflect it.
Corrections
If you think something in an article is wrong or out of date, email us at response@oriondental.ca and we will look into it.
